How the NFL playoff bracket works
- 14 teams qualify, seven from the AFC and seven from the NFC.
- The top seed in each conference gets a bye and skips the Wild Card round.
- Wild Card matchups: 2 hosts 7, 3 hosts 6, and 4 hosts 5.
- The bracket reseeds. In the Divisional round the top seed hosts the lowest seed still alive, and the other two winners meet.
- The higher seed hosts every game until the Super Bowl, which is at a set site, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Running a bracket pool
Hand out a bracket to everyone before the Wild Card round. A simple scoring system gives more points for later rounds, for example 1 point for each correct Wild Card pick, 2 for the Divisional round, 4 for the conference championships and 8 for the Super Bowl winner. Use the total points line on the sheet to break ties. Keep it friendly, and check local rules before playing for money.
